Issues to Look for on a Commercial Roof

Most commercial roofs are flat and flat roofs have their own particularities and raise specific concerns.

In the case of a traditional roof, the angular slopes make much of the roof surface unusable. On the other hand, a flat roof will allow its whole area to be used in various ways: you can create a green space, install solar panels, store the exterior units of the air conditioning systems etc.

There are, of course, some risks and drawbacks that may arise in the case of commercial flat roofs. These roof types were originally used in regions with arid climate, such as the Middle East, South America, or Mexico. Given the drought in these parts of the globe, the owners of such houses did not encounter problems with water accumulations.

The main problem is that a flat roof requires more attention to the sealing process, to prevent water from penetrating the roof. The drainage system is more complex and must be maintained functional, otherwise ponding water will infiltrate, eventually, into the structure of the building, causing major damage.
