If you want to beat the heat in the hot season and stay cool while spending less for energy bills, know that you can still keep your home comfortable.
Summer months in Orlando typically come with high demand for indoor cooling, so there is no wonder that air conditioners run like crazy and the energy costs are the highest of the year. So, what can you do about that?
First, you need a cool roof, properly insulated and ventilated. Choose roof replacement Orlando roofing materials that send the UV rays back into the atmosphere instead of absorbing it, or choose reflective roof paint.
If you have an air conditioning system, get it ready for the peak season. Clean the filters and call a HVAC technician to inspect your unit, just to ensure that it works normally and maybe install a programmable thermostat that will help you saving on energy while you are not home.
If you do not have a HVAC system and do not plan installing one, you could surely use some fans in your rooms.
If your windows are directly exposed to sunlight, install awnings. Do not open the windows when the sun strikes; keep them open during the night and in the morning, when the temperature is more comfortable.
